Description
La Caverne du Pont Neuf pays tribute to The Pont Neuf Wrapped by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, whose 40th anniversary was celebrated in 2025. It was a unique opportunity, for Parisians and visitors alike, to experience an ephemeral reinterpretation of the capital's oldest bridge.
To create it, JR drew inspiration from the quarries where the bridge's stones came from, with the aim of showcasing the origins of Paris's historic architecture. The work ultimately juxtaposes the raw and the wild with the refined elegance of the City of Light, creating a dialogue between past and present.
